Applied music is individualized instruction for music majors. American River College has offered applied music for several years. Traditionally, our students have been responsible for payment to their individual instructors. Under our new applied music program, the Los Rios district will pay private lesson fees for a maximum of 32 music majors. Students will receive seven hours of private instruction for a total cost of one unit of instruction to the student per semester. Students also perform a jury and a short public performance every semester. This is a very exciting and innovative program for our campus.

I am considering applying to your school. Please contact me with further information about your programs. Thank you.
