Siena Summer Music will perform concerts comprised of small ensembles, soloists, choir and chamber orchestra throughout the course of study. Each student will have the opportunity to perform with their colleagues and receive ensemble coaching in preparation for these concerts. Students will also have the opportunity to study Italian with one of our native instructors and take cultural trips to historic Italian cities. Students will have time to practice, study and enjoy the cultural riches of Siena, Italy! Chamber orchestra, choir, woodwind, string and brass ensembles, composition, vocal coachings, Italian language courses, jazz ensembles Winds Participants will rehearse and perform in chamber music ensembles and in the orchestra. They will receive intensive coachings by the Wind Director. Brass Participants will rehearse and perform in chamber music ensembles and in the orchestra. They will receive intensive coachings by the Brass Director. Voice Singers will attend and participate in master classes with the vocal instructor, perform with the choir and take intensive Italian language classes. They will receive weekly vocal coachings in opera repertoire working on language, style, and performance preparation. Some singers will have the opportunity to perform with the orchestra, as approved by the Artistic Director. Composition Composers will have daily opportunities to work with instrumentals and/or vocalists. Participants will complete two works during the program and have the opportunitiy to have them performed in concert. Composers will have sufficient amount of rehearsal time. Pieces to be performed must be approved by the Artistic Director. Jazz Instrumentalists Participants will play and perform in small jazz combos lead by guest jazz artists. Italian Language Class Participants will receive intensive Italian language classes with native instructors. *Private instruction can be arrange for an additional fee.* *All Italian language classes and cultural trips are included in the price of tuition for all participants.*
