BOOGIE, BLUES, AND BLUEGRASS: Alison Brown Quartet - Bluegrass PLUS, likened to combination of bluegrass, country, and jazz. Jorma Kaukonen - Blues and Americana from founding member of The Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. The House Jacks - San Francisco Chronicle says they are the original rock band without instruments. They don't need them, these five voices SOUND like musical instruments. CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA INCLUDES: Maestro Allan Pollack conducting The Festival Orchestra with fiery and lyric themes from Verdi, jubilant music of Prokofiev, romantic favorites from Rachmaninoff, and that's just opening night. Opera: Rossini's Il Senor Bruschino preceded by The Maestro Speaks. The Festival Orchestra: East and West with guitar virtuoso Shin-ichi Fukuda. Closing night dont miss a full chorus and the Festival Orchestra with Maestro Pollack and Bruch, Bernstein, Mozart, and Beethoven. JAZZ FEST: Hot Club of San Francisco (gypsy swing in the style of Django Reinhardt) opens for Julian Pollack Trio. WORLD MUSIC: Umi no Hi - A Celebration of Japan's Ocean Day - all day - beginning with an invocation, GONNA Contemporary Taiko, Bento Box Supper, highlighted by a concert featuring The Life & Legacy of Toru Takemitsu: Ocean That Has No East, No West. Additionally, Middle East Peace Concert with the Dror Sinai Trio, Rhythms of Harmony. Then watch out for Cherish the Ladies Celtic music and dance. Pedrito Martinez Groups Afro-Cuban Rhumba music will have you dancing in your seat. THE PIANO SERIES: Festures Janes D'Leon, Robert Schwartz, Grammy winner Gloria Cheng, and Jacqueline Schwab in intimate venues.
