The Department of Music at Harper College is widely recognized as one of America's foremost music programs among two-year institutions of higher learning. The Department of Music boasts a faculty of over fifty recognized artists and scholars brought together from institutions throughout the world. Performance faculty maintain active careers ranging from appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grant Park Orchestra, and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, to a wide variety of professional chamber ensembles and solo appearances both at home and internationally.
