Ohio Wesleyan University's department of music features talented and experienced faculty, outstanding facilities, personal attention, and excellence, all within the context of a liberal arts education. These are the departmental hallmarks that characterize the distinctive educational and professional experiences we provide our students. For students preparing for professional careers, Ohio Wesleyan offers Bachelor of Music degrees in performance and music education. Performance majors are available in voice, piano, organ, and orchestral and band instruments. Music education majors are certified pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in both choral and instrumental. Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in applied music, history/literature, and theory. A minor is available to non-majors as well. Performance is stressed in each program. Opportunities include performance classes, group and solo recitals, and participation in a wide range of music organizations.
