Dr. Patrick Jones, Boston University Music Education Department Chair has helped to pioneer the online degree program. His credentials include earning a BS, West Chester University; DipFA in Conducting, The University of Calgary; MA in Conducting, George Mason University; Ph.D., The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Jones has enjoyed an international career as a conductor of professional and youth bands, and is Conductor Emeritus of the Sinfonisches Blasorchester Eifel-Ardennen. He has served as an officer and board member of various professional organizations and is national chair-elect of the MENC History Special Research Interest Group and colloquium coordinator for the MayDay Group.

He is a graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music, Army Non-commissioned Officer’s Academy, Air National Guard Academy of Military Science, Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. His research interests include policy, music education history, and the intersection of theory and practice.
