Personal Statement

I love teaching everyone: young, old, beginner, advanced... or even a little “rusty.” If you are into the clarinet and you want to learn something, we're here for you. We're here for the ambitious high school student applying to college music programs, the young beginner learning to make her first sounds on the instrument, and the retiree picking up his clarinet for the first time in a gazillion years to play in his community band.

My “dream studio” is a place where young and old not only study privately with me, but get to know each other as fellow musicians and clarinet enthusiasts. Opportunities to learn from each other in master classes, community recitals and clarinet ensembles abound. This is what I call "Personlized instruction within a culture of community." It's the difference between building a true studio vs. simply teaching a few private lessons each week.

I am considering taking lessons. Please contact me with further information. Thank you.
