Galina Popova is an award-winning Folklore Artist, Choreographer, Director and a Conductor of a variety of music ensembles in Siberian region in Russia. She acquired her degree from the Music Academy of Art in Kemerovo, Russia. Since 1977, Galina has began series performances which brought her to give concerts on such famous stages as Kremlin Palace, often being featured with Folklore Ensembles. During these years she was featured as a Vocalist, Russian Folk-instrumental, Guitar and Accordion Artist. In the following decades of being teacher and a mentor to many of her successful students, her career took her from the Far East of Russia to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Her students became finalists in the major national and International Folklore and Voice festivals around Russia. Galina's Students Awards include: All-Russian Vocal Competition "Rose of Winds" -Moscow,2007. International Competition for Pop-Vocalists"Baltic Constellation" St. Petersburg, 2009. In 2011, Galina and her Husband Andrew has moved to U.S. after winning a green card to be closer to her 2 children, who also are accomplished musicians, living in Seattle and New York.

Shenandoah Conservatory is a performing arts community located near Washington DC with a comprehensive unit of 750 students and 120 faculty in music, theater and dance. In 2008-09, resident and visiting artists include the Audubon Quartet, pianist John O'Conor and trumpet artist Jens Lindemann.
