I am an orchestral trombonist, and I have approximately fifteen years experience performing and teaching in the USA, United Kingdom and Europe. I have held positions with the Memphis Symphony, the Odense Symphony (Denmark) and Europa Philharmonie (Germany) and have performed with orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra (London) the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (Glasgow) and the Royal Danish Opera (Copenhagen)
As a teacher, I taught private low brass lessons at several performing arts schools in Memphis and I was a brass tutor for the Ealing Music Service in London, where I specialised in individual and group tuition on brass instruments.
I am very passionate about sharing my knowledge with the next generation of brass musicians, and this is my main motivation for teaching. I'm very much looking forward to working with students in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, so please do contact me if you're interested in studying with me. All age groups and experience levels are welcome!
Education / Training
I originally studied at Duquesne University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania before joining the Memphis Symphony in 2002. I moved to the UK in 2007 where I studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
I've taken many private lessons across the USA, UK and Europe with teachers such as:
Ian Bousfield (Vienna Philharmonic)
Dudley Bright (London Symphony Orchestra)
Denis Wick (Former, London Symphony Orchestra)
Michel Becquet (Conservatoire Lyon)
Jesper Busk Sørensen (Berlin Philharmonic)
Michael Mulcahy (Chicago Symphony)
Richard Stout (Cleveland Orchestra)
Carl Lenthe (Professor, Indiana University)
Christopher Houlding (Folkswang Hochschule Essen)
Kristian Steenstrup (Aarhus Conservatory)
This has given me a very wide perspective to music and brass instruments, and my approach to teaching is strongly influenced by these people.
