Personal Statement
Rebecca has been an active music instruction educator for over ten years. Teaching highlights include holding faculty positions at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA, The North End Music and Performing Arts Center in Boston, MA, as well as the ABC Academy of Music and the Snider School of Music, both in Toronto, Canada.

Her students have successfully received admission to top music programs in North America, including Pace University, University of Southern Maine - Musical Theatre School, Ithaca College Summer Musical Theatre Workshop, New York University - Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Carnegie Mellon Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, The Broadway Actors Alliance, Emerson Musical Theatre Studio, The University of Western Ontario, and more.

Rebecca teaches a variety of styles, including classical and contemporary piano and voice. She also specializes in audition preparation for singers, as well as college audition applications and preparation.

Rebecca believes that the best musical education is developed through a trusting and respectful student-teacher relationship. Over the years, she has developed very special relationships with her students, aged 4 to over 60, and is passionate about helping aspiring musicians reach their full potential.

Education / Training
Rebecca Rapoport-Cole is a Canadian-born singer and actor. Rebecca has performed with several regional companies including, Odyssey Opera of Boston, The Arsenal Center for the Arts, Boston Opera Collaborative, Metrowest Opera, and the North End Music and Performing Arts Center.

In addition to her musical theater and operatic experience, Rebecca performs regularly as a concert artist, specializing in a variety of repertoire from classical to Broadway, Jazz and popular music. Rebecca’s recent concert performances include, Songs of the Gilded Age with the New England Light Opera and The New England Gilbert and Sullivan Society, three-time alto soloist with the Paul Madore Chorale, in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Requiem (under the baton of Maestro Max Hobart), and several concert engagements with the North End Music and Performing Arts Center including, Carole King and Friends (singer and pianist), Bella Notte- Italian Opera Favorites, a Shakespeare Celebration, various Jazz concerts and as a featured soloist in their Annual, Amore concert, now entering it’s fifth year.

Rebecca has been a participant in several national and international training programs including, dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, The Banff Center for the Arts, Mount Orford Music Academy, Opera Nuova, Songfest, Halifax Summer Opera Workshop, Toronto Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, and the Bay Area Summer Operatic Theatre Institute (BASOTI). Rebecca's European training includes Centro Studi Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy and The American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria.

Rebecca has been the recipient of several vocal awards. Some of these include the 2015 American Prize in Voice, semi-finalist in both the Opera and Art Song divisions. Rebecca was awarded Honorable Mention in the Barry Alexander International Voice Competition, 2014. She was a 2014 semi-finalist for the Chicago Oratorio award, and a 2014 semi-finalist for the American Prize in Voice.

Rebecca is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts, specialty in music), The Longy Opera Center (Master of Opera) and the Victoria Conservatory of Music Opera Studio program. Rebecca is on Voice and Piano faculty at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center, as well as WCT at the Arsenal Center for the Arts.
