Julia loves to teach, and she is currently accepting new students! She can also help families to find an instrument to buy or rent.

Lessons are available to students of all ages from beginner to advanced.
Hour lessons are standard but shorter lessons are available to younger students at the discretion of parents and teacher. Inquire for pricing. Lesson study includes fundamentals, etudes, solo & ensemble, recital repertoire, history, theory, and reed-making.

Bassoon reeds available for purchase with advance notice. Reeds are made with the Sakakeeny-Van Hoesen (SVH) shape and can be finished for beginners or left as blanks for those who wish to finish themselves.

Julia received a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Neuroscience from Oberlin College & Conservatory and a Master of Music from DePaul University. Her primary teachers included George Sakakeeny, Bill Buchman, Bob Barris, and Ann Dufek. She performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2012-2014 and played with the Northbrook Symphony from 2014-2017.
