Personal Statement

Through a variety of activities, students child become independent music makers, able to learn new pieces of music on their own. It’s fun – and has lots of benefits! Self-esteem, concentration, confidence, responsibility, problem solving, goal setting, coordination and self-discipline improve as a result of studying a keyboard instrument. Highlights of music lesson activities include: a comprehensive approach which includes learning songs to perform, technique, theory, listening skills, and training in effective practice techniques; music in a variety of styles and from a variety of periods; opportunities for students to share their musical gifts and talents at local retirement and assisted living communities, in worship services, and other settings; student recitals; opportunities to participate in Sonata Contest, Bach Festival, and other competitions and scholarship auditions throughout the year.
