Dr. Faber’s music studio aims to offer students opportunities to study music holistically within an educational atmosphere that is both encouraging and supportive of aspiring musicians in their unique process of musical development; nurturing their abilities through patience, attentive listening, and inquisitive exploration.

I taught music K-12 in the Michigan Public Schools for 10 years, taught private trumpet throughout that time, and was Head of the Music Education Department for 20 years at Grace College School of Music.

My performance experiences include performing with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Chamber Winds, Kent Philharmonic Orchestra, and with Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass. My trumpet teachers include Vincent Cichowicz, Luther Dedrickson, Irvin Serin, and Daniel Kovats.

As a conductor, I am currently conducting the Concert Orchestra of the New World Youth Orchestra, Indianapolis, IN., Bethel College Concert Band, and Trinity United Methodist Church Choir. In addition to these conducting posts, I am the Assistant Director of Strings at Winona Lake string camp. I was an assistant conductor of the Ball State Symphony Orchestra under Maestros Kirk Trevor, Bohuslav Rattay, and Dr. Fiora Contino—opera guest conductor. As an undergraduate student, I conducted the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony.

Other conducting teachers include Dr. Leonard Atherton, Dennis Keene, Robert Page, Vance George, Peter Bagley, Christopher Wilkins, William L. Jones, Marvin J. Rabin, Jere Lantz, Dale Warland, Elmer Thomas, John Leman, John P. Paynter, and Robert Harris.
