The Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA) is, with the Flint Symphony Orchestra, managed by the Flint Institute of Music and is located on the campus-like setting of the Flint Cultural Center. FSPA serves over 3,000 students each year in its music, dance, early childhood and outreach programs. Orchestras, bands, dance ensembles, chamber music, private lessons and classes are offered at the main building and at several locations in outlying communities. Outreach programs, such as classes for Head Start children, homeless children, and children and seniors in public housing communities are offered both at the main building and at other locations. The spirit of FSPA is defined by a philosophy of unconditional caring and descriptive feedback, creating an exceptional environment for individual growth and achievement.
