The Performing Arts Academy is the community division of the Margaret E. Petree College of Music and Performing Arts, Wanda L. Bass School of Music, at Oklahoma City University. The primary goal of the Academy is to instill in its students a lifelong enjoyment of music. It offers private lessons in all instruments and voice, Kindermusik classes, Suzuki violin and cello, and class piano for young children, as well as an extensive class guitar program. The Academy also offers a number of summer programs, most notably its summer Stars music theater program featuring residential camps for jr. high and high school students. in addition to a variety of summer camps and clinics. The Academy is active in promoting the importance of arts education in Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Its lessons and classes are designed to complement music programs offered in the local public and private schools.
