Darlington strives to serve the needs of a diverse community by providing a school as well as outreach programs for the visual and performing arts, and by promoting the enjoyment and understanding of the arts for people of all ages as expressed in music, art, dance and drama. It offers a full schedule of classes and private instruction to over 1,800 students in its facility and through its outreach programs and seeks to develop appreciation and sensitivity for the arts by encouraging the community's participation in such arts-related activities as a chamber music concert series; master classes; art exhibitions; a scholarship chamber music ensemble program; a children's theatre workshop; a fine-arts pre-school program; and a summer arts camp.
