The Music School began as a cooperative of area music teachers and became part of the Brattelboro Music Center in 1978 with the encouragement of Blanche Honegger Moyse, founder and artistic director of BMC. The School has grown both in size and scope as it fulfills its mission to provide opportunities for students of all ages and levels of performance to study music in a school committed to teaching of the highest quality. Over 300 students study with one or several of over 30 faculty members. Individual instruction is the core of the curriculum: private lessons are available in voice, piano, harpsichord, guitar, violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, harpsichord, recorder and solfege. Students will also find opportunities to study in ensembles, choruses, orchestras, classes and five summer camps. Performance events include: student recitals; orchestra concerts; concerts of the Country Dance Band for young players; choral concerts by both the The Children’s Festival and Big Sky, a teen chorus; the annual community String Bash when all area string players are invited for a one-day intensive and performance; Faculty chamber concerts and recitals; an opportunity, by audition, for students to perform in the student recital of the prestigious New England Bach Festival; and the Performathon, an annual day-long fund raising gala in which students perform to raise money for the scholarship fund.

I am considering attending your workshop. Please contact me with further information. Thank you.
